Inaugural event attracts quality line-up

International and national businesses will meet for the inaugural NSX: Investing In Innovation event in Newcastle on Friday 24 May 2002.
Some of the world’s best known organisations and some that are expected to soon attract wide attention be on display at NSX: Investing In Innovation 2002 at Newcastle City Hall.
NSX General Manager, Scott Evans, said that more than 1,000 people were expected to participate in the event.
NSX: Investing in Innovation 2002 will bring together the investing community, companies wishing to raise capital and organisations that provide services to both the investing public and innovative companies.
The expo will feature a trade display, as well as keynote presentations, a luncheon, special demonstrations and concurrent speaker sessions. The Hon Joel Fitzgibbon MP, Shadow Minister Resources and Member for Hunter, will officially open NSX: Investing in Innovation at 10:30am.
Transport and telecommunications infrastructure will feature in the keynote addresses. Former National Rail Managing Director, Vince Graham, will be speak about how a public corporation attracted private sector investment and Michael Simmons, General Manager of Soul Pattinson Telecommunications (SPT), will demonstrate how the SPT/NBN Group of companies invested into innovative telecommunications through the conversion of broadcast to telecommunications on its own digital network.
Managing Director of Polartechnics, Victor Skladnev, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon. Polartechnics has been spearheading the development of medical devices for many years and recently captured great public and media attention for the invention of a scanner for melanoma. Mr Skladnev will speak about the vital role of medical research and the development of innovative medical devices in the battle to win the war against deadly diseases such as melanoma.
NSX: Investing In Innovation 2002 will be open from 10am to 7pm and general entry is free.
